The Binding of Blood and Water: Interlude is a seven page comic, the events of which take place within chapter two of the main story. This comic started as a warm up exercise sketched for one of my college courses that I later revisited and fleshed out, combined with a few sketches I did to explore Cera’s past. I then finished it in full color to sell at my first solo endeavor at an art market.

The prompt this comic was born from tasked me with exploring the events of Binding’s second chapter from the point of view of a character other than the current focuses. This led me to Ash, a young vampire among Count Saffron’s horde who has close ties to Cera. In this comic, he acts as a witness to Cera’s stress and worry as the horde struggles to survive both away from their castle and without their usual leader to guide them.
